About FNF
Friday Night Funkin’ is a rhythm game in which the player must pass multiple “weeks”, each usually containing three songs.[note 1] Each week, the player typically faces a different opponent.
During gameplay, the opponent will sing a pattern of notes which the player must mirror by pressing the arrow keys or WASD. At the bottom of the screen is a bar indicating how well the player is doing. The left side of the bar is red, representing the opponent. The right side is green, representing the player. Successfully hitting notes will increase the size of the player’s bar, while missing notes causes the opponent’s bar to expand. The player fails if the opponent’s bar fills up the entire bar.
For each week, the player has the option to select one of three difficulties: Easy, Medium, and Hard. As difficulty increases, the speed of incoming arrows increases and the patterns of arrows become more complicated. The player’s high score for each week on each difficulty is tracked and shown in the top corner of the week selection screen.

I like tricky more than the auditor because he seems to be a more a unique character since he’s a clown zombie and just literally stole auditor power which made tricky most intelligent and most powerful character and the reason why auditor had to help hank in order to stop tricky.
You should check out both Project Nexus games. According to Krinkles both games are cannon but we should not think about it too much.
The background in gateway is his place call “auditor hell”
This is dumb the auditor is a godlike entity and seems unstoppable. He would kill them no matter what.

And also the room that tricky and auditor are in is the room we see after the song in the tricky mod: hellclown , while tricky was laying on the floor shaking , he probably got up when he saw auditor
Pretty sure that Tricky being a scientist is only canon to Project Nexus 2. Unless Krinkels confirmed it somewhere that he was a scientist before in the main timeline.
I think why Auditor fights Tricky in a dark room, is due to after hellclown on vs tricky, auditor finds tricky knocked out looking, I think that's how they encountered each other.

Auditor gained the halo by killing jebus and tricky was a scientist that worked on the improbability drive he got it in his mind AS A CLOWN he got hired and in the game project nexus he worked for Phobos with jebus as Dr Christoph

I just love how The Auditor is just sitting in a chair, then he sips his drink. He's like "Hey. What are you disturbing my "Me" time? *Sips*"
ppl think auditor is most evil, but hank is the actual antagoinist and tricky is the good guy, hank just killed sheriff bcz of a simple prank sheriff did and also kill 39 ppl for just 1 boombox, and use a body of a person who helped him to protect himself

Gonna correct some little thing and explain others:
First of all Auditor is endeed an employer but employers aren't the ultimate Gods of Nevada since Higher Powers are over (we don't have much info about them except that The God of All is named Maker and he appears in Project Nexus)
Second of all (small fact) Auditor isn't really a shadow but more of a FlameBoy
And Third thing in case someone wanna know about when Auditor fight Tricky well in my opinion Auditor is trying to get back control over tricky
Every character in the series with the type of eyes tricky have in the mod mean they are controlled by Auditor
but in the series Tricky got able to stop it and i think they are face to face since in the end of the original tricky mod he is in a red and black place like in this mod
